Caitlin Hope

Caitlin Hope is a Research Assistant at the University of Strathclyde, affiliated with the Faculty of Engineering and Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. She holds a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering and contributes to research aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Research Interests focus on air pollution monitoring, public health impacts in low-income settings, and sustainable sanitation systems. Her work in Malawi examines how traditional cooking methods affect respiratory health, while studies on urban sanitation address equity in Global South cities.

Projects include the EPSRC-funded Doctoral Training Partnership 2018-19 (2019–2024), investigating air pollution and sanitation sustainability.

Collaborations span institutions like the University of Strathclyde and Edinburgh Napier University, with geographic focus on Malawi and Global South urban areas.
