Caitlin Gordon-Walker

Dr. Caitlin Gordon-Walker is an interdisciplinary scholar whose work critically examines the role of museums in shaping national identity and cultural difference within Canada. Drawing from anthropology, political theory, history, sociology, geography, literature, and visual and material culture studies, her research interrogates the politics of public cultural representation, particularly in relation to nationalism, colonialism, and multiculturalism.

Her recent publication, Exhibiting Nation: Multicultural Nationalism (and Its Limits) in Canada's Museums (2016), explores how Canadian museums engage with hegemonic and counter-hegemonic narratives of national identity. This work aligns with broader trends in critical heritage studies, focusing on the interplay between tangible and intangible heritage in postcolonial contexts.
