Caitlin DeSilvey is Associate Professor of Cultural Geography at University of Exeter and Associate Director of the Environment and Sustainability Institute in Cornwall. Her research examines material change in cultural landscapes.

Research explores:

• Heritage conservation beyond traditional preservation
• Industrial landscapes and ecological transformation
• Material culture in decay processes
• Cultural narratives of environmental change

Publications focus on concepts of curated decay, entropy in heritage contexts, and industrial naturecultures. Recent work examines climate impacts on heritage through case studies like Orford Ness.

Collaborates widely with archaeologists, artists, and environmental scientists on interdisciplinary projects.
