About
Professor Concepción González Bello is affiliated with the Department of Organic Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), Spain. She leads the INCTB research group focused on Enzyme Inhibitors and Chemical Tools in Biology, while also collaborating with BCS (Biological and Supramolecular Chemistry) and COMMO (Organometallic Catalysis and Organic Molecular Materials) groups at the Singular Research Center in Biological Chemistry and Molecular Materials (CIQUS).
Her research spans synthetic organic chemistry, enzyme inhibition mechanisms, and chemical tool development for biological applications. Key projects include studies on dehydroquinase inhibitors and structural investigations of enzyme-substrate interactions using molecular modeling.
She earned her Doctorate from the University of Santiago de Compostela in 1994 with a thesis on "Synthesis of amaryllidaceous alkaloids by means of cycloaddition reactions of arynes" under the supervision of Dr. Enrique Guitián Rivera and Dr. Luis Castedo Expósito.
