C. Alejandra Elenes

C. Alejandra Elenes is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Race, Ethnicity, Gender and Sexuality Studies at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). She serves as Principal Investigator for the Mellon Foundation-funded Democratizing Racial Justice Project and has held editorial leadership roles as co-lead editor of Chicana/Latina Studies: The Journal of MALCS. Her work bridges academic inquiry with activism, focusing on racial and gender justice frameworks.

• Research Interests: Anzaldúan philosophy, Chicana feminist epistemologies, testimonio pedagogies, spirituality, and social justice.

Scientific Recognition: Received the AESA book award for co-editing Chicana/Latina Education in Everyday Life.
