Célia Baroux

PD Dr. Célia Baroux is a Professor in the Department of Plant and Microbial Biology at the University of Zurich. Her research focuses on chromatin dynamics, 3D genome organization, and quantitative microscopy in plant sciences. She leads projects exploring the role of linker histones in chromatin architecture and develops tools for advanced imaging and data analysis. Her work is supported by grants from the Swiss National Science Foundation and other institutions. She teaches courses on epigenetics, plant development, and cell biology, and actively contributes to community resources like the INDEPTH Action. Her lab has developed protocols for imaging and analysis, including DataViz and ChromNano tools. Key research themes include histone H1’s role in telomere regulation and epigenetic control during plant development.
