Dr. Burcu Duran is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at New Mexico State University. She holds a BSc in Physics from Bogazici University and a PhD in Experimental Nuclear Physics from Temple University. Previously, she conducted research at Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility as a postdoctoral researcher affiliated with the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
Her research explores fundamental questions about the building blocks of visible matter, using high-energy electrons to study nucleon structure through quark and gluon degrees of freedom. Her work also investigates short-range nuclear behavior phenomena.
