Dr Bugra Susler is an Associate Professor in International Relations at University College London's Department of Political Science, part of the Faculty of Social and Historical Sciences. He serves as Deputy Director of UCL's Global Governance Institute, Programme Director of the MSc in Global Governance and Ethics, and Head of the Turkey and the World research programme. He is also a Visiting Fellow at LSE IDEAS and affiliated with multiple research centers including the LSE Middle East Centre.
Education includes a PhD and MSc in International Relations/EU Politics from LSE, and a BSc in Politics (First Class Honours) from the University of Bristol. His research focuses on foreign policy analysis of emerging powers, conflict cooperation dynamics, and global governance frameworks. He authored a seminal book on Turkey-EU cooperation during the Arab Uprisings (Routledge, 2020).
Teaching responsibilities include courses on international conflict, global governance institutions, and war/violence analysis. His recent publications address topics such as Turkish foreign policy in Libya, Sino-Turkish relations, and African agency in global diplomacy.
