Dr. Buddhadev Jana is a Senior Lecturer in Materials Engineering at the Department of Engineering and Mathematics, Sheffield Hallam University, and a member of the Materials and Engineering Research Institute. He holds a PhD from the University of Strathclyde (2006) and advanced degrees from Bengal Engineering and Science University and the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. His research focuses on tribo-corrosion, metallurgy, and metal forming processes. Dr. Jana’s work includes developing theoretical models for erosion-corrosion regimes and optimizing steel production processes. He collaborates with institutions like the University of Strathclyde and Rutherford Appleton Laboratory. His industrial experience spans 9 years at Tata Steel Europe, where he contributed to product development and process optimization in steel manufacturing.
