Bryce N. Balmain

Bryce N. Balmain is an Assistant Instructor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center, affiliated with its Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. He joined the faculty in 2023 and holds a Ph.D. in clinical exercise physiology from Griffith University (Australia), where he also earned a bachelor's degree in exercise science with honors. His research focuses on cardiopulmonary and exercise physiology in health and disease, emphasizing pulmonary gas exchange, ventilation-perfusion matching, and breathing mechanics. Dr. Balmain actively participates in professional societies such as the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Physiological Society. He serves as an ad hoc reviewer for journals like Circulation and Chest, and previously contributed to the Reviewer Committee for the American Physiological Society Annual Meetings.
