Bryan F. Coker serves as the 12th President of Maryville College, a position he assumed on July 1, 2020. As president, he has focused on making Maryville College an institution 'of and for the region,' embracing the liberal arts as preparation for life's challenges, and futureproofing the College amidst changing higher education landscapes. Under his leadership, the College has experienced increased enrollment, introduced new academic programs, and enhanced community connections.

- Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee (2010)
Professional Focus: Dr. Coker's work centers on higher education administration, student affairs, liberal arts education, and regional economic development. His initiatives at Maryville College reflect his commitment to connecting academic programs with regional needs, particularly through the development of the Maryville College Downtown Center and the Alexander Institute for Environmental Education and the Sciences.

As president, Dr. Coker has overseen significant growth in philanthropy and student enrollment. He has secured major gifts for Environmental and Sustainability Initiatives, the 'Scots in the Smokies' program, the Hospitality and Regional Identity major, the Greaser Alumni Center, and a new Honors Program. His leadership has resulted in Maryville College joining the prestigious Southern Athletic Association after establishing the Collegiate Conference of the South, where he served as founding chair.
Dr. Coker serves on the boards of the Appalachian College Association and the Association of Presbyterian Colleges and Universities as Treasurer. He is also an active member of the NCAA Division III Presidents Council and maintains his role as an affiliated faculty member at the University of Tennessee in the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences.
