Prof. Dr. Bruno Strecker was a researcher at the Institute for German Language (IDS) in Mannheim from 1984 to 2011, serving in the Grammar Department. He held a doctorate in philosophy from the University of Tübingen (1974) and a habilitation in linguistics from the University of Augsburg (1983). His work focused on grammar systems, linguistic philosophy, and communication ethics, notably managing the GRAMMIS project and contributing to studies on language change and phylogeny. He was awarded the Hugo Moser Prize and recognized as an IDS Fellow for his lifetime contributions. His research also explored language in science and the practical semantics of communication.
