Bruno Bauer is a Professor of Physics at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), where he has held academic roles since 1996, advancing to full Professor in 2012. He is affiliated with the College of Arts and Science and leads the Department of Physics. Bauer’s research focuses on plasma physics, high-energy density systems, and their applications in fusion energy and radiation sources. He has pioneered experimental and computational studies of plasma formation, waves, and instabilities, co-authoring 53 peer-reviewed articles, 2 patents, and 56 conference proceedings. He founded the Nevada Terawatt Facility at UNR in 1997.
