Bruce Wang is a Lecturer in Linguistics at the School of Education, Communication and Language Sciences, Newcastle University. He completed his PhD in Forensic Speech Science at the Department of Language and Linguistic Science, University of York, under the supervision of Prof. Paul Foulkes and Dr. Vincent Hughes. His research focuses on forensic phonetics, sociophonetics, and the application of probability theory to forensic evidence evaluation.
His work addresses sampling variability in forensic voice comparison, uncertainty in forensic evidence analysis, and speech signal processing. Key areas include sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, and statistical modeling within forensic contexts.
