Bruce Harper-Ovstebo is a Principal Lecturer at Robert Gordon University's School of Health, where he leads on student recruitment and widening participation while teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programs. With over 15 years of nursing experience spanning community health, public health, and care of the elderly medicine, he brings substantial practical knowledge to his academic role. Before joining RGU, he worked as a lecturer at Edinburgh Napier University and served as a District Nurse Team Manager leading integrated health and social care teams.
His research interests focus on district nursing, community health, workforce development, leadership and management, quality improvement, and the integration of health and social care. He is currently completing his PhD at Edinburgh Napier University with research titled 'Beyond numbers and tasks: a longitudinal ethnographic study exploring the role and work of district nursing teams and the impact this has on patients, carers, families and communities.'
