Bruce D. Johnson

Bruce D. Johnson, Ph.D., is a Professor of Medicine and Physiology at Mayo Clinic, holding appointments in the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, Division of Preventive, Occupational, and Aerospace Medicine, and the Department of Physiology & Biomedical Engineering. His research focuses on heart-lung interactions in clinical and extreme environments, including chronic heart failure, exercise physiology, and wearable technology development. He leads the Mayo Clinic's Energy Balance Core Laboratory and has conducted field studies in Antarctica, high-altitude mountains, and with unique populations such as breath-hold divers and military pilots.
