Dr. Bruce Anthony Chase is a Professor in the Department of Biology at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO), College of Arts and Sciences. He holds a B.S. in Biology from the University of Chicago, a Ph.D. in developmental neurogenetics from Yale University, and postdoctoral training in molecular genetics at Stanford University. His research focuses on neurodegenerative diseases (particularly Parkinson’s disease), genetic analyses in human and model systems, and molecular neuroscience. He has secured over $700,000 in research funding and contributed to 16 peer-reviewed publications in top journals.
Teaching interests include General Biology, Genetics, Bioinformatics, and Neuroscience, with a commitment to innovative pedagogy such as optogenetics labs and inquiry-based learning.
