Bruce Alberts is the Chancellor’s Leadership Chair in Biochemistry and Biophysics for Science and Education at the University of California, San Francisco, a position held since 2013. He previously served as President of the National Academy of Sciences (1993-2005), Editor-in-Chief of Science magazine (2008-2013), Co-chair of the InterAcademy Council (2000-2009), and held professorships at UC San Francisco and Princeton University.
