Brooklyne Gipson is a Research Fellow at the Department of Communication, University of Illinois, and concurrently holds a Research Fellow position at Harvard Kennedy School's Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy. Her work focuses on Black feminist digital/technology studies and the intersection of race, gender, social media, and power. She examines how misinformation, disinformation, and anti-Black discourses circulate within Black social media spaces through an intersectional lens.

Her research bridges critical race theory, feminist media studies, and digital sociology, addressing systemic inequities in technology and media ecosystems. She is affiliated with the Illinois/ACLS Postdoctoral Fellowship program.
