Brittany R. Gilbert is an Assistant Professor of Fine Art, Painting at Francis Marion University in Florence, SC, where she teaches courses such as 2-D Design, Drawing, and Painting. She earned her M.F.A. in Painting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a B.A. in Studio Fine Arts from Union College, with minors in Art History and French.
Her artistic practice centers on observational landscape painting, using sequential and perceptual methods to explore sustained engagement with changing environments. Through repeated painting of the same location over time, she investigates human perception, sensory attunement, and the rhythm of artistic endurance.
