Bristin Jones

Bristin Jones is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Literatures, Languages, and Cultures department at the University of California Merced. Her work intersects environmental humanities, animal studies, and political art, with a focus on ecosystems from the 19th century to the present across Italian, Latin American, and U.S. contexts. She teaches in the Environmental Humanities and Spanish programs.

Research interests include:

• Environmental justice and ecoactivism
• Comparative studies of Sicilian and Venezuelan cultural ecosystems
• Bilingual community theater as political expression

She serves as curriculum co-designer and program coordinator for UC Merced’s Environmental Humanities major/minor, and mentors the Carson House sustainability-themed Living Learning Community and Ballet Folklórico student group.
