Brigitte Mars

Brigitte Mars is an adjunct professor in the Department of Herbal Medicine at Naropa University, with nearly five decades of teaching experience. She also instructs at the School of Health Mastery in Iceland and has delivered lectures at institutions like Omega Institute, Esalen, Kripalu, Sivananda Yoga Ashram, and The Mayo Clinic. A founding member of the American Herbalist Guild, she holds a BA in Psychology and has authored 14 books on natural health, including The Natural First Aid Handbook and Addiction-Free Naturally.

Her research and teaching emphasize practical applications of herbal medicine, nutritional strategies for addiction recovery, and ecological living. Courses she teaches include topics like medicinal trees, the therapeutic value of culinary herbs, and aromatherapy. The overarching theme is empowering students to integrate plant-based healing into everyday life, focusing on accessibility, sustainability, and holistic well-being.
