Brienne Walsh is a Professor of Art History at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), appointed since September 2022. She holds an M.A. in modern art, critical and curatorial studies from Columbia University, and a B.A. in history of art & architecture from Brown University. Her professional roles include freelance writing since 2010, contributing to national and international publications on topics ranging from contemporary art and literature to motherhood, finance, and design.
Prior to her academic career, Walsh managed advertising and publicity for the globally acclaimed Ashes and Snow exhibition, overseeing logistics and VIP engagement in cities like Los Angeles, Tokyo, and Mexico City. She also co-launched Artspace.com, editing artist biographies and managing marketing strategies. Her research interests intersect art history with broader cultural themes, including contemporary art practices, socio-economic narratives, and the interplay between art and modern life.
Her publications span diverse topics such as pandemic-era literature, luxury travel, urban migration, and celebrity culture. Walsh’s work often bridges critical analysis with accessible storytelling, reflecting her dual expertise in academia and media.
