Dr. Brie Myre is an Assistant Professor of Biology at Hastings College specializing in reptile physiology and conservation. She holds a PhD in Biology from Texas A&M University and an MSc from Southeastern Louisiana University, with undergraduate training in Fisheries and Wildlife from University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Her research focuses on the evolution of hormone function, reproduction in reptiles and amphibians, marine ecophysiology, and conservation of endangered species with particular expertise in sea turtles. Dr. Myre has conducted field research on loggerhead and olive ridley sea turtles through internships at the National Marine Life Center and Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue Center.
She teaches courses including Human Anatomy and Physiology, Vertebrate Form and Function, and MCAT preparation, with prior teaching experience at multiple institutions during her graduate studies.
