Bridgit Crews is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology & Immunology at Washington University School of Medicine, where she serves as the Medical Director of Mass Spectrometry and Clinical Toxicology. She specializes in developing and applying advanced mass spectrometry technologies for clinical diagnostics.
- Education: BA in Chemistry (University of California Davis, 2001), PhD in Chemistry (University of California Santa Barbara, 2007), Postdoctoral Research Fellow at The Scripps Center for Mass Spectrometry and Metabolomics (2008), and a Fellowship in Clinical Chemistry (Washington University School of Medicine, 2013).
Her research focuses on the clinical application of mass spectrometry methods, including liquid chromatography tandem MS, high-resolution MS, and inductively coupled plasma MS, to detect and quantify drugs, steroid hormones, metals, and biomarkers for disease diagnosis and monitoring. Her work has led to innovations in detecting fentanyl analogs, xylazine, and high-sensitivity dipstick tests for clinical urine screening.
