Bridgette Clarkston

Dr. Bridgette Clarkston is an Associate Professor in the Department of Botany at the University of British Columbia's Faculty of Science. Her academic background includes a B.Sc. in Biology from the University of Victoria (2005), a Ph.D. in Biology from the University of New Brunswick (2011), and postdoctoral research at UBC's Carl Wieman Science Education Initiative (2012-2013).

Her research focuses on marine biodiversity, seaweed systematics, and phylogenetics, with emphasis on algal classification and conservation. She integrates authentic scientific practices into undergraduate education, promoting active learning and scientific literacy.
