Bridget Roosa

Bridget Roosa is the Charles A. Dana Professor of Dance and Co-chair of the Department of Creative Arts at Agnes Scott College. She specializes in ballet and modern dance techniques, choreography, Labanotation, and dance history.

Her scholarly work focuses on dance notation for preservation, artistic direction of student ensembles, and historical reconstruction. As Artistic Director of Studio Dance Theatre, she curates and directs mainstage productions annually.

Research interests include Labanotation's application in documenting dance heritage and its pedagogical value. Her publications highlight collaborations with renowned choreographers and the role of notation in reviving classical works like Lynchtown and The Beloved.

Professional affiliations include certification from the Dance Notation Bureau and expertise in Zena Rommett Floor Barre™ and Pure Barre techniques. She actively stages works from Labanotation scores by pioneers like Ruth St. Denis and Doris Humphrey.
