Bridget Otter is a Lecturer in Social Work at Sheffield Hallam University, in the College of Health, Wellbeing and Life Sciences, Department of Social Work and Social Care and Community Studies. She is a qualified and SWE registered Social Worker with practice experience in Youth Justice, Duty and Assessment (Child Protection), and therapeutic work with children and families (NSPCC). She joined SHU in 2023. Her research interests include early intervention for young people, trauma informed approaches, and complex safeguarding.
Bridget is the Admissions Lead for the MSW (Master of Social Work). She teaches across undergraduate and postgraduate taught courses, including modules such as (DA) Preparation for Practice, (DA) Personal and Professional Development for Social Work, Evidence Review (as Module Lead), Nursing and Social Work Practice 2, Sciences and Theory across the Life course, and The Advancing Professional.
