Dr. Bridget L. Anderson is Associate Professor of Applied Linguistics at Old Dominion University and Director of Tidewater Voices: An Oral History and Dialect Project. She specializes in acoustic phonetics, sociolinguistics, and forensic linguistics, with expertise in American regional dialects including Appalachian and Southern Englishes.
Her research examines language variation, dialect accommodation patterns, and forensic linguistic applications. Publications analyze vowel accommodation in Cherokee English, sociophonetic strategies in migrant communities, and cognitive processing in clinical communication contexts.
