Brian W. Pickering

Brian W. Pickering is a Medical Educator at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine with appointments in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine and Critical Care Specialty Groups. He has been actively involved in clinical practice, research, and education since 2008.

Dr. Pickering earned his MD from University College Dublin (2006), MSc in Molecular Neuroscience from Bristol University (2002), and completed Critical Care Fellowship at Mayo Clinic (2010). He holds dual Board Certification in Anesthesiology (American Board of Anesthesiology, College of Anaesthesiologists of Ireland).

His research focuses on Critical Care Informatics, Medical Decision Making, and Science of Healthcare Delivery. Key areas include AI in acute care, electronic health record usability, diagnostic error prevention, and digital health strategies for patient safety.
