Brian Thompson

Brian Thompson is a Senior Lecturer of Japanese at the University of South Florida (USF), affiliated with the Department of World Languages since 2015. He holds an M.A. in Japanese Linguistics and Pedagogy from the University of Wisconsin – Madison (2014). His teaching spans all levels of Japanese language instruction, including advanced courses and specialized topics in Japanese Culture and Manners. He has also supervised independent study courses.

Prior to USF, Thompson taught at Florida State University, the University of Iowa, and served as a Teaching Assistant (TA) at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Since 2017, he has taught Japanese at the Middlebury Summer Language School during summer sessions.
