Brian T. Bateman is the Anesthesiology, Perioperative, and Pain Medicine Endowed Professor and Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative, and Pain Medicine at Stanford University. He holds a courtesy appointment in Epidemiology and Population Health. Trained at Columbia University (MD), Harvard (MSc in Epidemiology), and Massachusetts General Hospital (Anesthesiology residency), his work focuses on medication safety in pregnancy and maternal morbidity.
