Dr. Brian Rider is an Associate Professor of Kinesiology and Department Chair at Hope College, where he joined the faculty in fall 2015. He directs the exercise science program and teaches courses in the kinesiology department.
- Research focuses on activity monitors, athlete testing, and ergogenic aids.
- Education: Ph.D. in Kinesiology (University of Tennessee, 2015), M.S. in Exercise Science (Oakland University, 2011), B.A. in Exercise Science and Spanish (Adrian College, 2007).
Research Interests
His work includes evaluating wearable technology accuracy, optimizing athletic performance through blood flow occlusion, and studying psychophysiological effects of exercise environments. He has explored ischemic preconditioning, compression garments, and fluid balance mechanisms during exercise.
