Brian Reid is Professor of Soil Science at the University of East Anglia's School of Environmental Sciences, where he also serves as Pro Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation (2023-24), Associate Pro Vice Chancellor for Research (2022-23), and Associate Dean for Innovation SCI (2019-22). He leads research on soil carbon dynamics, soil health, and climate-resilient land management.
His research focuses on soil carbon sequestration, biochar applications, soil pollution remediation, and soil ecosystem services valuation. He directs multiple projects including OpenCLIM_LANDS evaluating climate-resilient interventions, and studies on antibiotic resistance mitigation through soil re-carbonization.
