Brian Pope

Dr. Brian Pope is a Professor of Psychology at the College of Coastal Georgia, teaching since 1999. His expertise lies in Biopsychology, with active research in musical cognition, personality measurement, and socio-political attitudes.

Education:

• Ph.D. in Biopsychology, University of Georgia
• M.A. in General-Experimental Psychology, College of William and Mary
• B.A. in Psychology, DePauw University

Dr. Pope is an active researcher who collaborates with students, presenting annually at the Southeastern Psychological Association (SEPA) since 2005. His research explores how music affects cognition, methods for assessing personality, and techniques for measuring political attitudes.

He teaches core psychology courses including Introduction to Psychology, Research Methods, and Personality, and plans to expand his curriculum to include Motivation and Cross-Cultural Psychology.
