Brian Pompeii is an Assistant Professor in Geography & Environmental Science at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. He holds a PhD and MA from Arizona State University and a BS from Pennsylvania State University. His research examines water resource management, environmental justice, sustainability challenges, and hazard vulnerability. Current projects investigate PFAS contamination impacts on marginalized communities and sustainability curriculum development.
He teaches courses spanning environmental conservation, climate change, energy systems, and water resource management. His research employs mixed methods to analyze human-environment interactions, with publications on drought vulnerability, sustainable education, and coastal water systems. He serves as Vice Chair of the Joint Committee on Environmental Sustainability and is affiliated with the River Studies Center.
