Brian Pittman

Brian Pittman is a statistician at Yale School of Medicine's Center for Translational Neuroscience of Alcohol (CTNA) with over 28 years of experience collaborating on clinical and biomedical research studies. He holds an MS in Biostatistics from Columbia University and specializes in the design and analysis of clinical trials, particularly methodological approaches for non-normally distributed data from psychiatric studies. Pittman has co-authored over 200 peer-reviewed publications in neuroscience and psychiatry.

His research focuses on developing statistical methods for psychiatric challenge studies and clinical trial design in substance use disorders and mood disorders. Current collaborations include work with Dr. Ralitza Gueorguieva on statistical core development and Elaine LaVelle on data management.
