Brian O'Callaghan is a Researcher at the University of Oxford, where he leads the Oxford University Economic Recovery Project alongside Professor Cameron Hepburn. As an Australian Rhodes Scholar, he focuses on the intersection of economics and climate policy, with additional expertise in renewable energy finance and green hydrogen economics.

His research examines how fiscal spending, particularly green initiatives, can mitigate economic contraction. He co-authored the 2020 seminal work on COVID-19 fiscal recovery packages and climate change, while also exploring methods to reduce perceived risks in renewable energy investments.
Brian serves as a consultant to the Robertson Foundation and government/business groups on energy and climate transitions. He is currently on leave from the Boston Consulting Group.
