Brian Meenan

Brian Meenan is Professor of Biomedical Materials and Associate Dean (Research & Innovation) at Ulster University's Faculty of Computing, Engineering and the Built Environment. He works at the Belfast campus (2-24 York Street, BT15 1AP) and Jordanstown Campus (Shore Road, BT37 0QB).

His research focuses on biomedical materials and nanotechnology for medical devices. Key projects include:

• Calcium phosphate thin film coatings
• Atmospheric dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) of polymer surfaces
• In situ biological process control in bioreactors
• 3D printing of bioactive composites

Recent publications highlight his work in microwave metasurfaces, 3D-printed biomedical resins, and polymer crystallization control, spanning materials science, electromagnetic applications, and biomedical engineering.
