Brian King

Brian King is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Muskingum University, where he has been teaching since 2000. He serves as Advisor for the Pre-Law Minor and Co-Director of the John and Annie Glenn Public Service Fellows Program. Additionally, he coordinates the Pre-Law Program, acts as campus liaison to the Washington Semester Program in D.C., and advises the Muskingum chapter of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity. His community roles include serving on the Board of United Way of Guernsey, Monroe, and Noble Counties and participating in local service initiatives.

Dr. King’s research focuses on American political institutions and foreign policy, national/international security, and civic engagement. He emphasizes the scholarship of teaching and learning, integrating experiential methods into his pedagogy. His work bridges theoretical and practical approaches to governance and public service, preparing students for careers in law, government, and community leadership.

At Muskingum University, Dr. King contributes to the Political Science department’s mission of educating students through interactive, collaborative, and experiential learning. He has previously taught at the University of Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky University, and Indiana University-Purdue University, bringing diverse academic perspectives to his roles.
