Brian Godman

Brian Godman is a Visiting Professor at the Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences, University of Strathclyde. He holds a PhD from The Open University (2011), focusing on methods to enhance generic prescribing rates in Europe and overcoming stakeholder barriers.

His research interests include pharmacoepidemiology, pharmaceutical policy, rational use of medicines, and cross-national studies on generics. He has led projects such as 'Leveraging CoviD-19 to Build Confidence in Vaccination and Promote Antimicrobial Stewardship in SA' (2021–2023) and 'Assessment of cardiovascular diseases risk profile and management in HIV-infected patients in Kenya' (2019–2020).

Recent work addresses antibiotic prescribing practices in Vietnam and Africa, emphasizing compliance with guidelines and antimicrobial resistance. He has contributed to datasets on vaccine adverse effects and contraceptive practices. Collaborations span global health initiatives, with a focus on low- and middle-income countries.

Notably, he has participated in media engagements like Scidev.Net and MalariaWorld, disseminating research on global health challenges.
