Brian Carruthers

Brian Carruthers serves as Dean of the School of Education and Human Services and Chair of the Division of Adult & Graduate Studies at Bob Jones University, with 38 years of experience spanning K-12 Christian schools and higher education leadership. Appointed dean in 2009, he previously held teaching and administrative roles at Christian schools in Florida and North Carolina before returning to Bob Jones University in 2004 as a faculty member.

His academic credentials include:

• EdD in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University
• MS in Educational Administration and Supervision from Bob Jones University
• BS in Science Education - Biology from Bob Jones University

Dr. Carruthers specializes in Christian educational leadership, focusing on preparing students for vocational calling through both traditional and online graduate programs. His work emphasizes strengthening K-12 Christian schools via professional development workshops nationally and internationally, while integrating faith-based pedagogy with contemporary educational administration practices.

He actively engages with South Carolina's educational landscape as a member of the South Carolina Education Dean’s Alliance and through State Department of Education collaborations, regularly attending accreditation conferences to advance his professional expertise in educational leadership.
