Brian Beabout

Brian Beabout serves as Associate Professor of Educational Leadership at the University of New Orleans' School of Education, holding the RosaMary Professorship of School Effectiveness and Improvement. He coordinates the M.Ed. program in School Leadership, Louisiana's primary pathway to leadership certification through the Louisiana Department of Education.

His educational credentials include:

• B.A. in Letters, Arts, and Sciences from Pennsylvania State University (1998)
• Ph.D. in Instructional Systems from Pennsylvania State University

Dr. Beabout's research examines community engagement within school choice systems, analyzes unintended outcomes of educational reforms, and investigates urban school leadership practices. His scholarly output comprises 16 peer-reviewed journal articles, 9 book chapters, and 65 conference presentations, including co-editing Only in New Orleans: School Choice and Equity Post Hurricane Katrina (Sense, 2015).

Through his program coordination role, he guides aspiring school leaders toward certification. His community impact extends to founding the Morris Jeff Community School and serving on boards of the Coalition of Diverse Charter Schools and School Leadership Center of Greater New Orleans.
