Brian Bates

Brian Bates is a Full-Time Lecturer at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, with a joint appointment in the English Department and Interdisciplinary Studies Department. His academic work focuses on Romantic Period literature, particularly on authorship, poetics, and media studies.

Bates is currently editing a collection of essays for European Romantic Review to celebrate the bicentennial of Keats’s 1820 Lamia volume and completing a monograph titled Keats’s Authorial Play. His publications reflect trends in interdisciplinary approaches to Romantic literature, blending textual analysis with historical and cultural contexts.
