Brian Barr is an Adjunct Professor in the Art Foundation department at Virginia Commonwealth University's School of the Arts. His practice spans artistic creation and independent curation. Notable recognitions include fellowships at the MacDowell Colony and Kala Art Institute, alongside a residency at the Luminary Center for the Arts in St. Louis.
His collaborative work with artist Lauren Rice includes exhibitions such as Totems at Vox Populi (Philadelphia), Fake Empire at Flashpoint Gallery (Washington, DC), and DATA/TRANSFER/OBJECT at Cuchifritos Gallery (New York). A solo exhibition, Heavy is the Head, debuted at Popps Packing in Detroit (2014).
