Brett Neilson

Professor Brett Neilson is a leading scholar in globalization studies at Western Sydney University. His research focuses on the social and cultural dimensions of globalization, including border studies, geopolitical systems, and critical infrastructure. He holds a PhD from Yale University and a BA from the University of Sydney. His work addresses contemporary issues like logistical power, digital platforms, and pandemic adjustments, often translated into 16 languages. Key HDR projects include Border Studies and Data Politics. He leads projects such as The Geopolitics of Automation (2020–2026) and collaborates on initiatives like the Logistical Worlds research network.
