Brett Kuwada

Brett Kuwada, Psy.D., is a Senior Instructor in Western Washington University's (WWU) graduate program in Rehabilitation Counseling and a professor of psychology at Everett Community College. He holds a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University, an MA in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University, and a BA in East Asian Studies with a psychology focus from WWU.

His career spans over a decade in counseling and education, including 9 years as a counselor at Everett Community College focusing on supporting vulnerable populations. He has also worked at the University of Washington, Washington State Correctional Facility for Women, and North Seattle Community College. His research and practice emphasize diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), with presentations at national conferences such as NCORE, IARP, and HREI.

Recent professional activities include delivering a pre-conference workshop on Cultural Humility, Empathy & Compassion at NCORE and keynote addresses for IARP and HREI. His work integrates clinical psychology with community-driven approaches to social justice in higher education.
