Brett Carter is an Instructor at the University of Alabama's Department of English. He holds a Ph.D. in Composition, Rhetoric, & English Studies (University of Alabama, 2019), an M.A. in English (The Citadel, 2011), and a B.A. in English with a minor in Art History (University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa). His research focuses on redefining ethos in rhetoric through confidence games, forgeries, and popular culture. He has taught at multiple institutions, including part-time roles at Midlands Technical College and Benedict College.
