About
Brett Cagg, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Sciences and Mathematics at Wayne State College. His research focuses on computational modeling of challenging chemical reactions and applying quantum mechanics principles to organic/inorganic chemistry. He teaches courses in general chemistry, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics. Prior to WSC, he served as an Assistant Professor at Brescia University (2010–2015) and an instructor at Auburn University (2009–2010).
Education:
- Ph.D. Chemistry, University of South Carolina, 2015
- B.S. Chemistry, Missouri Western State University, 2009
Dr. Cagg emphasizes active learning and group work in his teaching philosophy. His computational chemistry work targets molecules and reactions that defy standard electronic structure methodologies.
