Brenda Velasco Rodriguez

Brenda Velasco Rodriguez serves as a Research Fellow in the Department of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Santiago de Compostela, affiliated with the Research Center in Biological Chemistry and Molecular Materials (CIQUS) and Strategic Grouping in Materials (AEMAT). She is an active member of the GFCP Colloid and Polymer Physics Group, contributing to interdisciplinary materials research.

She completed her PhD at the University of Santiago de Compostela in 2021 with the thesis "Development of polymeric hydrogels and their application in regenerative medicine," supervised by Dr. Pablo Taboada Antelo and Dr. José Félix Armando Soltero Martínez.

Her research spans Materials Science, Polymer Chemistry, and Regenerative Medicine with emphasis on hydrogel biomaterials. She integrates molecular design principles from Biological Chemistry and Molecular Materials to develop therapeutic solutions for tissue engineering, leveraging CIQUS's interdisciplinary infrastructure for translational biomedical applications.

Dr. Velasco Rodriguez collaborates within the GFCP research group under CIQUS, focusing on colloid-polymer interactions to advance smart biomaterials. Her work aligns with AEMAT's strategic materials science initiatives, targeting innovations in sustainable material systems for healthcare.
